History
Lithographic Services, Inc. (LSI) began in 1973 on West Adams Street in downtown Jacksonville. At first, the majority of work was shooting B&W and halftone artwork on camera, as well as providing proofs, film and plates for local printers. Eventually, LSI became a service bureau to many of the nearby advertising agencies doing both prepress and design.
After spending 22 years on West Adams Street, LSI moved in 1995 to Philips Highway where they continued to expand their design and prepress services. Not too long thereafter, LSI acquired a small printing business and entered the print and publishing industry. For several years, LSI published Jacksonville Sports, which covered local, regional, and state sports both at the student, semi-pro, and professional level. Other publications included Cornerstone (Chamber of Commerce publication), Jacksonville Careers, and Richmond Careers.
After spending nearly 6 years at Philips Highway, the company decided it would better expedite its services and projects if all three departments (design, prepress, print) were housed in one facility. LSI then moved to its present location on Victor Street, where it has remained for the last 3 years.
In that time, LSI added bindery equipment and services, and continued to evolve alongside the design, prepress, and print industry by updating its equipment and using current industry standard hardware and software.
