Question #1: When can I expect my project will be completed?
Answer: The standard turnaround for each project takes approximately 5 business days from the time that the approved proof has been received by LSI. Proofs are provided within 24 hours of receiving your project.
Question #2: How may I send my digital files/where can I send the files to?
Answer: Send your project requests to Lithographic Services, Inc. - Attn: Julie Brodbeck/Project Manager at 4887 Victor Street Jacksonville, FL 32207. We prefer that you send project files via CD with a hard copy of the finished project, as well as a directory of the disk (See "file preparation" page). However, if the "Project Folder" does not exceed 2 MB, the files may be sent via email to prepress@lithosi.com ("Total Project" = the document file, graphics, fonts and any additional linked files as the one total file size; not to exceed 2 MB). Compression software may be used to compress the project folder as a .zip file.
You may also upload your files to our FTP server. In order to use this convenient service, please call and request a user name and password. Contact Julie Brodbeck for more information.
Question #3: Frequently used terms?
Answer: If there are specific terms and/or abbreviations that you are unfamiliar with, we have provided a simply Glossary page for you. Click here to review these terms. You may also find additional resources on our Links page. Click here to go to that page.
Question #4: What type of files do you accept?
Answer: The best way to ensure that your file is prepared correctly for our services, please read through the "file preparation" page provided above (or click here). We address the many "concerns" that customers have when setting up their project files. Some of these include: compatible applications, fonts, resolution, color, and page construction.
Question #5: How much will this project cost?
Answer: The cost of your job depends on a variety of factors. Some important factors are the quantity, brand or type of stock, amount of colors, finishing work (die-cut, foil or emboss, collating, folding, gluing), and special delivery services. Additional costs include quick turnaround charges (rush charges) and our design and page formatting services.
Question #6: What forms of payment do you accept?
Answer: We accept personal checks and all major cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Please call Michelle Crow at 904.367.0002 for more information.
Question #7: What is an FTP site?
Answer: We now offer an FTP site (File Transfer Protocol) where you can download a file as well as upload a file (or files) through our web address on the internet. Call us for more information on how you can use this convenient service (you will need a user name and password).
Question #8: Why do the colors on the proof look different from what I see on my screen? Will it print this way?
Answer: The color proof that has been provided is solely to provide you with a visual reference for color. The proof is not a "true match." The only way we can ensure a "true match" of color is to provide a match print from the film produced from the files. This process is more expensive and recently become obsolete. The process at which these proofs are made is at a lower resolution and more cost effective overall. They provide a good and acceptable visual for how your project will appear before we go to press. If there are concerns with color matching, we ask that you either provide a previously printed sample for our press match or you may attend the press check at an additional cost.
Question #9: Where are you located?
Answer: Click the "Company Info" button at the top of the page, and the initial page "Contact" will be displayed. There you will find three different sets of directions to our building depending upon your location.
Question #10: Employment Opportunities?
Answer: At this time, Lithographic Services, Inc. is accepting applications for a print sales position. A preferred candidate will have had previous experience with print sales, and demonstrates a working knowledge of the design and prepress process. We are seeking a motivated seller, with great communication skills who can represent Lithographic Services, Inc. on a professional level. Please call Michelle Crow: 904.367.0002 for more information.
